Privacy Policy
Effective 6 October 2026
This policy explains the information Task Hero uses to run its local-task marketplace. It applies to the Task Hero website and Android and iOS apps. For questions or data requests, use Help in the app or email info@taskhero.in.
1. Information you provide
When you sign in with Google, we receive account identifiers and basic profile details such as your name, email address, and profile photo. You can add a mobile number, spoken languages, service categories, service city, and portfolio material. Tasks, offers, direct requests, messages, photos, reviews, and support requests contain information you choose to submit. A task may include its address and schedule.
2. Payment and verification information
We keep payment and wallet records needed to show task payments, fees, helper earnings, and withdrawals. Razorpay handles checkout and payment details; Task Hero receives transaction identifiers and status rather than your UPI PIN, OTP, or full card credentials. UPI verification records the verified payout ID and account name. If an identity verification flow is available, its status and reference may be recorded. We do not claim that every helper has an identity or skill verification badge.
3. Location, device, and technical data
If you choose to share location, we may store coordinates for a task or helper listing and use them for maps, directions, and approximate distance sorting. Search can still work by city without precise location. We also process the technical data needed for sign-in, security, troubleshooting, and service delivery, such as an IP address, request time, device or browser information, and app errors. Native push notifications, when enabled and permitted by your device, require a device token.
4. How we use information
- Run sign-in, profiles, task discovery, offers, chat, payments, wallet withdrawals, and reviews.
- Show owners and helpers the information needed to agree on and complete a task.
- Verify account and payout details where those features are available.
- Send service updates, respond to support requests, prevent fraud, and secure the marketplace.
- Meet legal, tax, payment, recordkeeping, and dispute-related obligations.
5. What other users can see
Public member profiles may show your name, photo, languages, ratings, reviews, and completed work. If you opt into Find Help Now and meet its verification requirements, a helper card may show your service city, service categories, identity status, rating, and approximate distance. Your saved mobile number is visible only to you in Profile for now; it is not included in public profiles or helper cards. Search cards do not reveal your exact service address or coordinates. People involved in the same task can see the task details, including its address, and messages they exchange. Only the task owner can see all offers on that task; a helper sees their own offer.
6. Service providers and disclosures
We share information with providers that help deliver the service, including Google for sign-in, Razorpay for payments and UPI verification, mapping services for location features, hosting and email providers, and Apple or Google for permitted native push delivery. They receive information relevant to their function and process it under their own terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect users or the service, or as part of a lawful business transfer. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Storage, security, and retention
We use access controls and other reasonable measures to protect account and transaction data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security. We retain information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal or payment duties, prevent misuse, and resolve disputes. We do not state a single retention period for every record because these purposes differ.
8. Your choices and account deletion
You can edit your profile, remove your mobile number, turn off helper discovery, decline optional location or push permissions, and request account deletion from Profile. Active tasks must be resolved and wallet balances withdrawn before deletion. Deletion anonymizes account details and cancels or withdraws eligible open activity. Task, payment, message, and review records may remain for the other party's records and the purposes above. Contact us to request access, correction, or help with deletion or consent choices, subject to applicable law.
9. Children and policy changes
Task Hero is intended for adults. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us. We may update this policy as features or legal requirements change. We will post the current version and effective date here.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, email info@taskhero.in or use Help in the app. We will review your request under applicable law.
